SITHFAB021 - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol

RSA - Responsible Service of Alcohol

Course Overview

The RSA – Responsible Service of Alcohol course is designed to support learners to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to responsibly serve and supply alcohol in accordance with Western Australian liquor laws.

The course focuses on real workplace outcomes, including understanding the effects of alcohol, identifying and managing intoxication, verifying age and identification, refusing service appropriately, and recognising individual and venue responsibilities. Learning activities and assessment tasks are contextualised to reflect realistic scenarios learners are likely to encounter in hospitality, events, tourism, clubs, and liquor retail environments.

Training is delivered online using a flexible, self-paced model to support learner access and engagement. Content is presented in clear, plain language and structured to accommodate a diverse learner cohort, including entry-level workers and those with varying levels of experience.

Assessment is competency-based and designed to gather sufficient, valid, reliable, fair, and flexible evidence of learner competence, in line with the requirements of the Standards for RTOs 2025. Learners must demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and make appropriate decisions in alcohol service situations.

On successful completion of all training and assessment requirements, learners are issued a Statement of Attainment that meets current regulatory and compliance obligations for Responsible Service of Alcohol in Western Australia.
